London (LGW) → Phuket (HKT) · Norse Atlantic Airways

Flying London to Phuket? Your driver is already booked.

The UK finally gets a direct run to the island. Until now every British traveller changed in Doha, Dubai, Singapore or Bangkok and arrived on a connecting hop; from the 2026/27 winter, Gatwick connects to Phuket three times a week.

The short answer

If you are flying London to Phuket with Norse Atlantic Airways, IslandTransfer meets that flight at Phuket International Airport (HKT). We track the flight, so a delay moves your pickup at no extra cost, and our team waits at arrivals holding a name sign with your name on it. A private car to Patong is a fixed ฿850 and a 9-seat van ฿1,050, per vehicle, including fuel, tolls and airport parking. Nothing is charged when you book — you pay your driver in cash or by Thai bank transfer at the end of the ride.

The London flight, and what it means on the ground

Everything below is about this flight specifically — not generic airport advice.

However you reach Phuket from the UK — direct on the new Gatwick service, or on the long-standing one-stop routes through the Gulf — you land after somewhere between thirteen and eighteen hours of travel, with the time difference on top. British arrivals also cluster in Phuket's early morning, because that is where the Gulf and Bangkok connections put you, which means landing hours before any hotel can check you in. Whatever it says on the ticket, send us the flight number and we time the car to the actual landing rather than to a guess.

Fixed prices from the airport

Per vehicle, not per person. Fuel, tolls and airport parking included — no meter, no night surcharge, nothing charged when you book.

How your pickup works, whatever time you land

  1. 1.Send us your flight number, your hotel and how many of you there are. You get a fixed price back, in writing.
  2. 2.Before you fly, we send your driver’s name, vehicle and licence plate, and the exact meeting point.
  3. 3.We watch the flight. If it lands late, your pickup moves with it at no extra charge.
  4. 4.Our team is at arrivals with your name on a sign. Your driver takes the bags and drives you to the door.
  5. 5.You pay at the end, in cash or by Thai bank transfer. Nothing is taken up front.

London to Phuket: what travellers ask us

How do I get from Phuket Airport to my hotel when I arrive from London?
Book the car before you fly. IslandTransfer arranges a private transfer that is timed to your Norse Atlantic Airways flight: we track the flight, our team meets you at arrivals with a name sign, and a licensed local driver takes you directly to your hotel door for a price agreed in advance. The alternative is joining the public taxi queue outside arrivals and agreeing a fare after a long flight, which is slower and almost always dearer.
How much is a taxi from Phuket Airport to Patong?
IslandTransfer charges a fixed ฿850 for a sedan (up to 3 passengers), ฿950 for an SUV (up to 4) and ฿1,050 for a 9-seat van (up to 7). That is per vehicle, not per person, and includes fuel, tolls and airport parking. There is no meter and no late-night surcharge. What you are quoted at the airport itself varies widely — anywhere from roughly ฿850 to ฿2,000 for the same drive, depending on the hour, the vehicle and how the negotiation goes. Our price does not move.
I land in Phuket at dawn but check-in is not until 14:00 — what do I do?
This is the normal question on this flight and it has an easy answer. Almost every Phuket hotel will store your luggage free of charge before check-in, so IslandTransfer takes you to the hotel first to drop the bags, and from there you have the best hours of the Phuket day to yourself — the beaches are empty and cool before nine. Tell your driver what you feel like and he will take you to breakfast, to a beach, or to a café that is genuinely open at seven, rather than leaving you asleep in a lobby chair. It costs nothing extra on the airport transfer.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing changes for you. IslandTransfer tracks the flight number you give us, so if you land early or late your driver adjusts to the real landing time at no extra charge. You are never billed for waiting caused by a delay, and you are never left without a car because the plane was late.
Where will the driver meet me at Phuket Airport?
IslandTransfer includes a free meet and greet: our team stands in the arrivals hall holding a name sign with your name on it, so there is nothing to search for. Our airport staff are there until midnight; on the rare flight that lands later, your driver comes and waits for you himself at the meeting point we agreed, so there is always somebody there for you — and we tell you which it will be before you fly. Either way you get your driver's name, vehicle and licence plate in advance.
Is it cheaper to book a Phuket transfer in advance or just take a taxi on arrival?
In advance, on this flight in particular. IslandTransfer's price is fixed and published before you book, so it does not move with the hour you land, the size of your group or how tired you look. The airport rank is a negotiation, and at this time of day it is a negotiation you will lose. Booking ahead costs nothing up front — you pay the driver after the ride.
Can IslandTransfer take us back to the airport at the end of the trip?
Yes. Book the return at the same fixed price, tell us your departure flight, and we work the pickup time back from check-in so you are not rushing.
