How the hourly rate works
- ✓ Minimum booking: 4 hours, then ฿300 per hour sedan or ฿300 per hour van for each additional hour you book
- ✓ Hours added on the day cost ฿350 per hour for a sedan or SUV and ฿400 per hour for a van on packages under 8 hours, and ฿300 per hour for any car on 8-hour packages and longer. After midnight, every hour is ฿500.
- ✓ Rate includes driver, fuel and parking anywhere in Phuket
- ✓ Luxury Van (Toyota Alphard): minimum 5 hours from ฿6,500, then ฿1,000 per hour — full day up to 10 hours ฿9,000
- ✓ Trips beyond the island add a fixed amount per day: Phang Nga or Khao Lak +฿500 sedan or SUV / +฿700 van, Krabi or Ao Nang +฿1,000 sedan or SUV / +฿1,300 van; further afield is quoted per trip. Message us on WhatsApp before you book.

Private driver by the hour: common questions
What is included in the hourly rate?＋
The driver, fuel and parking anywhere on Phuket island are included in the IslandTransfer rate you see — no meter, no surprise add-ons. Nothing is charged when you book; you settle with your driver at the end of the day. Entrance fees to temples or attractions are not included and are paid as you go.
Do I need to pay for my driver's lunch?＋
No. Your driver takes care of their own meal while you eat. Inviting them is a kind gesture, but never expected.
Should I tip my driver?＋
Tips are never included or expected. If you're happy with your day, a tip is a kind thank-you — entirely up to you.
How do I reach my driver during the day?＋
Before your trip we send your driver's name, WhatsApp number and licence plate, so you can message or call your driver directly all day — to change the plan, or to say you're ready to be picked up.
Does my driver speak English?＋
Our drivers speak basic English — enough for directions, times and stops.
Can we bring young children or older family members?＋
Yes. Child car seats are ฿200 per seat per day, for children up to 7 years old, up to 2 per car — book them at least 1 day ahead. Travelling with someone who walks slowly or uses a wheelchair? Tell us when you book and we will match the right vehicle; your driver stops as close to each entrance as is allowed.
Can I change the plan while we are out?＋
Yes. An IslandTransfer hourly booking is a private charter, not a fixed-stop tour — tell your driver where to go next and how long to stay. As long as you stay within your booked hours (or add up to a couple of hours on the day), the plan is entirely yours.
When do my hours start?＋
Your hours begin at the pick-up time you choose, so it's best to pick a time when you'll be ready to go. Your driver will be there a little early. If your day starts at Phuket Airport: we track your flight, so a delay costs you nothing — your hours begin when you get in the car.
What if I need more hours than I booked?＋
Just tell your driver — up to 2 extra hours can be added on the day and paid at the end. Hours added on the day cost ฿350 per hour for a sedan or SUV and ฿400 per hour for a van on packages under 8 hours, and ฿300 per hour for any car on 8-hour packages and longer. After midnight, every hour is ฿500. Planning a longer day? Booking the longer package up front is always cheaper than extending. Extending past 22:00 depends on your driver.
Can I hire a VIP van or Toyota Alphard by the hour?＋
Yes. Our Luxury Van is a Toyota Alphard with captain seats — what many travellers call a VIP van — for up to 4 passengers. It is ฿6,500 for 5 hours, ฿1,000 for each extra hour, and never more than ฿9,000 for a full day of up to 10 hours. Driver, fuel and parking in Phuket are included, the same as every hourly booking. A Toyota Vellfire is available on request for ฿1,000 more.
Can the driver take us off the island — Phang Nga, Khao Lak, Krabi?＋
Yes. Trips beyond the island add a fixed amount per day: Phang Nga or Khao Lak +฿500 sedan or SUV / +฿700 van, Krabi or Ao Nang +฿1,000 sedan or SUV / +฿1,300 van; further afield is quoted per trip. Name the place in your plan when you book (or add it in the day planner) and the supplement is added to your price; for anywhere further, message us on WhatsApp first and we confirm the total before you book.
